Summer is Coming to a Close

It's that time of year again, when the kids will be going back to school and I will finally be able to go to the grocery store with only TWO kids to tag along. I'm looking forward to the break.

Sarah, RJ, and John will start school on Monday, August 23. Sarah will be going to the Intermediate school (5th and 6th grades) - typing that out freaks me out a little bit. How is it possible that I have a child in 5th grade already?!?! RJ and John will continue at the Elementary school in 4th and 2nd grades. We'll go to their schools this week to meet their teachers & drop off their school supplies.

Our trip to San Antonio was pretty good, except for the time-share presentation part. We thought it would be no big deal, but it ended up being a real PAIN! The presentation started an hour and a half late, then lasted well past 2 hours (they said it would take 90 minutes), and then came the hard sell. I did not mince words when we told them we were NOT buying and we wanted our extra incentives that were promised to us and that we needed to leave NOW. They asked why we seemed to upset. UH WHAT DO YOU THINK, DIM WIT????

Otherwise, though, we went to the Six Flags waterpark, we ate out at Red Robin, we went to downtown San Antonio to the famous Riverwalk and also saw the Alamo, and we returned to Six Flags for the Amusement park. John got to ride the Superman Tower of Power ride for the first time ever! I thought he'd be bowled over with excitement but, upon exiting the ride, he seemed rather nonplussed.

I think the worst part was the ride back to Arlington. That's always the hardest part of any vacation - the ride back. Now we're home, and back in the swing of things, and ready to get back into our usual schedule. I can't wait!
