RJ participated in the Math Bee at school. He placed 4th in the whole 4th grade (there were about 25 kids to begin with). We think he did great! The Math Bee is just like a spelling bee, except instead of words the contestants have to solve simple math problems. In the beginning they are one-step problems and then they progress on to two-step and three-step problems.
Sarah has been keeping very busy at school too. She enrolled in the after-school basketball clinic, which ran for 6 weeks. It wasn't an organized team, but it was a chance to learn the rules and techniques of basketball in an informal way. Sarah had a great time and her coach said she did a fantastic job! We're hoping to get her on a team next year.

John has really been doing well in school and his teacher praises his effort and cooperation. He has made straight-A's the whole year through. Not a single B! And he continues to improve his reading all the time.
Maura is potty trained! She has an accident every once in a while, but for the most part she's doing great. It was so easy! I think she was really motivated to do what her big sister was doing. She thinks going pee-pee and poo-poo on the big potty is almost the best thing in the world to do, running a close second only to playing with Play-Doh.
Amy continues to just get bigger and bigger. At her 4-month doctor's appointment, on the 22nd, they told me she's at 75th percentile for height and weight. She took her first taste of rice cereal today! I can't believe it!!! I don't want that little angel to grow up so fast.
RJ and John had their Cub Scout Blue and Gold ceremony this month. Both boys advanced to the next level in Cub Scouts; RJ to Webelo 1, and John to Wolf.
I'm trying to play around with my camera to get some better shots. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. But I'm practicing!
We've been trying to figure out what to do about our car situation. Ryan's Jeep is starting to be too small for our growing family, and it's needing more and more work to keep it running. We're thinking about getting a new van, but we're just trying to keep our options open.
Till next time... Love from all of us down in Texas!
